My family decided to self-isolate on Thursday as the Coronavirus pandemic continues to explode.

We usually have a full pantry because we have two kids, but the very real threat of running out of alcohol was the first thing I thought about as the realities of being in lockdown with my kids for who knows how long began to sink in. I mean, I need my wine to survive!

Sadly, the major online supermarkets are overwhelmed with orders as many jump on board the isolation train, with delivery slots being filled faster than you can say “fuck this shit”. Our groceries won’t be arriving for 5 days! Yikes!

Thankfully, there are a few options out there serving the community during these wild times.

Need it now? Like, 30 minutes from now, now?

Jimmy Brings is the answer to that. Servicing Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, the Goldie, Sunshine Coast, Adelaide and Perth metro areas, they promise to bring the booze within 30 minutes. That’s enough time for you to shower, cut up the slices of lime and surf Netflix.

Wine, beer and spirits are on offer with Jimmy Brings, and the prices are reasonable. See the full menu here.

My Jimmy picks are the ULTIMATE VARIETY BEER CASE giving you a 6 pack of Asahi, Carlton Draught, Corona (hahaha) and Pure Blonde. Maybe hold the Corona….or use it for virus joke selfies. That’s a pretty good bargain for a mixed case.

Also excellent value are the wine bundles. There are loads of options, including a super cheap mystery pack of 6 wines.

Making Jimmy Brings even more sensational is the fact they sell mixers, condoms (yep!), nuts, chips, painkillers, jerky and even tobacco (yuck, but whatever floats your boat). Peruse the entire menu here and jump on it! You could probably survive the entire pandemic lockdown with these guys alone. Cheers Jimbo.

Don’t need it in 30 minutes?

The Wine Collective have an unbeatable selection of wines and spirits at incredible prices. With free delivery over $250, it’s an easy way to stock up and have the booze delivered straight to your front door.

My pick is the Grant Burge and Filsell & Friends Red Dozen at 50% off retail. That works out to $10.75 a bottle.

Love your gin? Then try my newest discovery, the Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin. The guys at Four Pillars are my neighbours in the Yarra Valley, and well worth checking out.

Also worth investigating (and you could spend all day on this site) are the live offers which are constantly updated. Deep discounts and epic savings to be had.

Is BEER your main drunk of choice?

Beer Cartel is an online store based in Artarmon, Sydney who are serving up the finest craft beers available. Their HUGE menu has over 2400 choices, you could quite literally spend hours scrolling through the options. If you are a beer lover, then this is the site for you.

Their gift options are superb, with my top pick being the Top 100 Aussie Mixed Craft Beers.

They even have a beer club so you can have it delivered every month. No lock-in contracts make it a flexible choice for the true beer lover.
